On October 31, 1999, When the First Officer of Egypt Air Flight 990 took control of the plane and switched off the autopilot, the aircraft subsequently fell from the sky. Regaining control, the plane ascended only to again dramatically dive only moments later. The manoeuvres caused the left engine to be torn off and the plane plummeted into the Atlantic Ocean killing all onboard. Was it mechanical failure or did the First Officer deliberately crash the plane?
