Also, look for a number of familiar faces in the ast, including TV's future Superman George Reeves, notorious Hollywood heavy Victor Jory, and in his first credited role, Robert Mitchum! In fact, Mitchum would appear in more of Hoppy's adventures before branching out on his own and becoming one of Hollywood's greatest stars. William Boyd returns in the 25th of 66 Hopalong Cassidy adventures. This time Hopalong goes undercover to expose a group of ranchers who are interfering with the building of a new railroad. Also, look for Russell Hayden as Lucky Jenkins, and Britt Wood as Speedy McGinnis. It's a great, action-packed adventure from director Leslie Selander (Flight to Mars, Riders of the Range), and further proof that no one pushes Hoppy around and gets away with it!

Knights of the sage-brush roar across the plains in this western drama from Harry Sherman Productions. Victor Jory ( Papillon, Gone With The Wind), stars as a ranch foreman wrongly arrested for murder. The memorable cast includes Tom Tyler (Stage Coach, Adventures of Captain Marvel), plus Noah Beery Jr (The Rockford Files) and in one of his earliest feature roles, Alan Ladd (The Blue Dahlia, Shane).

Wagon Trail
The son of Sheriff Clay Hartley, of the frontier town Elder, has gotten into bad company and hangs out with an outlaw gang in which, Collins, owner of the Golden Rule Saloon, is the secret head. Sheriff Hartley suspects him, but has been unable to gather the needed evidence. Collins instructs his gang, including young Hartley, to hold up the stagecoach on its return trip from Missionary Flats and take the cargo of gold dust it is carrying. Sheriff Hartley is notified of the planned holdup by one of his deputies who has been spying on Collins, and organizes a posse. A deputy-sheriff is killed in the ensuing gunfight between the lawmen and the outlaws, but Deputy Joe Larkin, pursues and captures Clay Hartley Jr. The latter is quickly tried and convicted of the killing of the deputy, and sentenced to be hung. Sheriff Hartley has only a few hours to prove his son was not the killer. He enlists the aid of Collins' step-daughter, Joan, who is in love with Hartley's son.
The Range Busters
In the first of the Range Buster series, a mysterious figure is killing the help at the Circle T Ranch. The Range Busters are called in to help, but cant figure out the murderers identity. Is it Torrence, a longtime rival of the Circle T, or is it blind uncle Rolph? Ray Crash Corrigan, John Dusty King, and Alibi Max Terhune head the cast. Director S. Roy Luby (Border Phantom, Black Market Rustlers), also has a fine list of supporting players, including Luana Walters, Leroy Mason, and Kermit Maynard.

Tom Tyler stars in this vintage western from the short-lived Reliable Pictures Company, a group known for low budgets and lots of action. In this feature, Tom reforms a gang member in order to infiltrate a ring of thieves. Rex Lease, Margaret Nearing, and Al Bridge also star.

What it lacks in accuracy is made up for with adventure, as well as and some of Roy's great cowboy songs, including 'Blow Breeze Blow', and 'Rollin' Down to Santa Fe'. Other stars include George 'Gabby' Hayes, Chief Thundercloud, and the lovely Pauline Moore (Young Mr. Lincoln, Charlie Chan at Treasure Island)
Bad Man of Deadwood

Kurt Neumann (The Fly, Rocketship X-M) directed this bawdy tale of a love that was louder than war drums! With a cast that includes Scott Brady, Rita Gam, and Neville Brand, the story takes place on a remote army post where an artist romances a trio of women, just as a vengeful settler turns the army and the local Iroquois tribe against each other. Film buffs might like to know that the cinematography for this feature is by four-time Oscar nominee Karl Struss, who won an Academy Award in 1929 for his work on Sunrise.
Captain Apache (Edited Version)
After Harry T. Collier, a beloved commissioner of Indian Affairs, is murdered in late March during the1880s, Captain Apache, an Indian graduate of West Point, is assigned by the army to investigate the crime. Suspecting that O.J., the sheriff of a town bordering the reservation may be involved in the killing, Apache travels there and finds the sheriff dining with his mistress Maude at the Paradise Saloon. Before Apache can question him, however, O.J. abruptly departs and rides out of town with Apache in pursuit. When Apache apprehends him, O.J. swears that he did not kill Collier and relates that the agents dying words were April Morning. Meanwhile, Griffin, a wealthy landowner and six of his henchmen deliver guns across the border to a corrupt Mexican general who is bent on overtaking the province by force. When Griffin then demands that the general now fulfill his part of the bargain, the general orders him killed, unaware that his lieutenant, Sanchez is in Griffins employ. Rather than killing Griffin, Sanchez shoots the general, and after promoting himself to the post, promises Griffin that he will cross the border in time for April Morning. When O.J. is found murdered, Apache questions Maude, who reveals that O.J. traveled to a Mexican cantina monthly. Apache then rides to the cantina, where he is met by a cavalry patrol led by Sgt. ORourke. Upon learning that the cantina owner has recently been killed, Apache demands that the mans widow, Rosita, take him to Rodriguez, her husbands employer. Rosita then introduces Apache to a Mexican sergeant who allegedly knows where Rodriguez can be found. Unaware that the sergeant is Rodriguez disguised as a soldier, Apache follows him to a church where the priest claims that Rodriguez has claimed sanctuary and is therefore immune to the law.
The Hanged Man
After a condemned gunfighter (Steve Forrest) survives his own hanging, he helps a young widow stop a pitiless land baron from taking her ranch. This television feature boasts a strong cast of recognizable characters, including Will Geer, Sharon Acker, Dean Jagger, BarBara Luna, and Cameron Mitchell. Director Michael Caffey would go on to work on such hit shows as Barnaby Jones and MacGyver. Also, look for John Mitchum, younger brother of Robert, in a small role. This movie originally aired on ABC-TV and was considered the pilot for a possible series. Writer/producer Andrew Fenady was behind several opular TV shows such as Branded and The Rebel, as well as the 1970 John Wayne feature, Chisum.

Baseball superstar Gehrig is one of several ranchers being coerced by a bunch of bandits. His sister and her lawyer/lover organize the ranchers. Directed by Ray Taylor; starring Smith Ballew, Gehrig, Evelyn Knapp. Talk about stunt casting! Gehrig was a New York Yankees star who was nearing the end of his career, but one of the biggest sports stars in the country. In the movie he plays a variation of himself, as Lou Gehrig, a retired baseball player who takes up ranching. Lou expects to relax on his ranch but quickly joins other ranchers in a fight to protect their properties.
Sagebrush Trail
John Wayne plays a man wrongly convicted of murder in this exciting western drama from Lone Star Pictures. You'll enjoy plenty of gun action and thundering hoofbeats as he escapes from jail and then joins a gang, hoping to find the real killer! Director Armand Schaefer (The Miracle Rider, The Lost Jungle) whips up some fine performances from a cast of B-movie favorites, including Lane Chandler (Samson and Delilah) and the great stunt rider, Yakima Canutt. And of course, the film features plenty of fight scenes, made memorable by John Wayne's big swinging' right fist! For film buffs: This was one of 11 films Wayne starred in that year, making 1933 one of the busiest years of Wayne's legendary career.
Winds of the Wasteland
John Wayne stars in this Republic Pictures western about the final days of the Pony Express. Former rider John Blair (Wayne) enters a coach race to win a $25,000 government mail contract, but there are dozens of obstacles in his path. The rest of the cast includes Lane Chandler and Phyllis Fraser, plus Lew Kelly (Lady of Burlesque) doing a great comic turn as Rocky OBrien, the eccentric, self-proclaimed mayor of a deserted mining town.
The Star Packer
He Dared Death In The Outlaw's Lair! John Travers (John Wayne) takes on a mysterious gang leader known as The Shadow in this vintage western from Hollywoods Poverty Row. Director/writer Robert N. Bradbury (Blue Steel, Riders of Destiny) gets the best of a remarkable cast that includes George Gabby Hayes. Of interest to film buffs is that the feature was shot in various California locations by Oscar winning cinematographer Archie Stout (The Quiet Man).
Doomed Caravan
Hoppy is enlisted to help protect Jane Travers' next caravan against robbers who have been terrorizing travelers. He comes across a wily pair of thieves who hve their men disguised as soldiers to escort the caravan. Hoppy isn't fooled for a second and busts up their plan with help from the Bar 20 boys. Not to be outdone, the thieves then capture everyone but Hoppy and puts them before a firing squad. Not it's up to Hoppy to rescue his friends singlehandedly. The cast includes William Boyd as Hopalong Cassidy, with Russell Hayden and Andy Clyde as Luky Jenkins and California Jack. For those counting, this was the 32nd of 66 Hopalong Cassidy adventures. They would be edited for syndication on television, bringing Hoppy and his friends to a whole new generation of fans.

Rage at Dawn
Randolph Scott plays James Barlow, an agent from Chicago hired to bring the notorious Reno brothers to justice. But wouldnt you know it? The Reno gang includes a beautiful young woman (Mala Powers), who catches Barlows eye. This western from director Tim Whelan (The Thief of Bagdad) features cinematography by two-time Oscar winner Ray Rennahan (Gone With The Wind), while the screenplay was by noted author Horace McCoy (They Shoot Horses, Dont They?). Theres also an all-star cast, including Forrest Tucker, J. Carrol Naish, Edgar Buchanan, Denver Pyle, and several other shaggy sidewinders!

Hopalong Cassidy and his crew get involved in a war over water rights in this feature from Harry Sherman Productions and Paramount Pictures. The intrigue starts when crafty Joe Weller (Morris Ankrum) turns two ranchers against each other, which leads to dire results. This is the 33rd of 66 Hopalong Cassidy movies, with WIlliam Boyd in the role he made famous. Who would ever mistake Roy Rogers for Billy the Kid? That's exactly what happens in this actionpacked horse opera from Republic Pictures. Rogers arrives on the scene shortly after Pat Garrett (Wade Boteler) kills the infamous Billy the Kid (also played by Rogers). Though Billy was a killer, he was on the side of the homesteaders against a coterie of big time ranchers. As Billy's death is unknown to the public, Roy gets Garrett to let him pose as Billy to continue the fight against the ranchers, but without the bloodshed. We also get six songs, including When the Sun is Setting on the Prairie...
Daniel Boone, Trailblazer
Daniel Boone (Bruce Bennett) battles Shawnee warriors as he leads a band of settlers into Kentucky in this frontier potboiler from Albert C. Gannaway Productions. Made at the height of Hollywood's fascination with pioneer days, the film also stars Lon Chaney Jr. as Chief Blackfish, and country singer Faron Young as a handsome young suitor for Boone's daughter. There's plenty of action and danger here as the Shawnee are convinced that Boone is trying to steal their land. But Boone is ready, not even fearing death by tomahawk. It isn't how you die, Boone says. It's what you live for.
Cry Blood Apache (Edited Version)
An Apache brave seeks vengeance on a band of sadistic gold hunters in this bloody drive-in western. Pitcalin (Jody McRae) leads the marauders who wipe out an Apache camp when they discover gold, only to watch their violent deeds lead to their own demise. Also starring Guy Wilkerson as Panhandle Perkins, this offering from Hollywoods Poverty Row features the usual fistfights and entertaining storyline that made these modestly budgeted features well worth watching. Songs include Teach Me To Forget and You Will Have to Pay both sung by Tex!
Six Gun Trail
Legendary cowboy star Tim McCoy stars as Captain William Carson, who along with his sidekick Magpie does battle with jewel thieves. Its an actionfilled drama of the West, with plenty of blazing guns and heman adventure! There are a couple of songs, too, including Moon Over the Plains but they arent sung by Tim McCoy. He was too darned tough to sing! Also starring Nora Lane, Ben Corbet; directed by Sam Newfield.
Man from Utah
WHIRLING ROPES AND SNARLING GUNS IN THE GALLOPING GRIP OF A GLAMOROUS DRAMA! John Wayne stars as John Weston, a man hired to investigate shady doings at a local rodeo. It seems all the riders who are on the verge of winning end up dead. The Lucky Texan

Undercover US Marshal John Carruthers (John Wayne) is investigating a rash of robberies by a character known as The Polka Dot Bandit in this B-movie gem. Along the way, Carruthers finds himself in more trouble than he'd ever expected! Written and directed by Robert N. Bradbury, the film features George Gabby Hayes, Eleanor Hunt, and many other favorites of the era. Wayne was only 27 at the time of Blue Steel, but was well on his way to becoming The Duke.
Courageous Avenger
Gold, gangs, and the heroic fight for life! Johnny Mack Brown (Billy the Kid, Coquette) stars in this western thriller about murders going on in a mining community. Its a story full of twists, where the greed for gold is only surpassed by the struggle for life!
Riders of the Deadline
The 50th of 66 Hopalong Cassidy films finds Hoppy in a vengeful mood. When his good friend Tim Mason is unjustly sent to jail and then killed when trying to escape, Hoppys bitterness gets him drummed out of the Texas Rangers. With the help of his pals California Carson and Jimmy Rogers, he sets out to expose the real culprits and clear Tims name. The usual cast is here, including William Boyd as Hoppy, plus Andy Clyde, Jimmy Rogers, and in one of his earliest roles, Robert Mitchum.
