ב־1978 ג’ון בלושי הגשים חלום; להיות גם הקומיקאי הכי מפורסם באמריקה וגם כוכב רוק. אלבום ההופעה של “האחים בלוז“, ההרכב שלו ושל דן אקרויד האגדי הגיע למקום ה-1 במצעד המכירות, הפך ללהיט ענק וההרכב מילא אולמות, הוא היה אז בן 29 בלבד. 3 שנים אח"כ הוא מת ממנת יתר של קוקאין והרואין, כמו כוכבי רוק אחרים שלא ידעו לאזן את נפשם ולהכיל את ההצלחה לה זכו.
