בגיל 42 דויד ממשיך לחיות כמו בן טיפש-עשרה חסר אחראיות. הוא מתנהל ללא מאמץ מינימלי ומקיים קשר מורכב עם ואלרי, שוטרת צעירה. דווקא כשהיא מספרת לו שהיא בהריון ממנו, נחשף העבר של דויד. 20 שנה קודם לכן הוא התחיל לספק זרע למכון פוריות תמורת תשלום. עתה מסתבר שהוא אבא ל-533 ילדים. 142 מתוכם הגישו תביעה אזרחית בדרישה לחשוף את אביהם הביולוגי, אשר מוכר רק תחת הכינוי "סטארבק".
